THE BONNEVILLES’ LATEST STUDIO ALBUM “DIRTY PHOTOGRAPHS” DROPS MARCH 16TH VIA ALIVE NATURALSOUND RECORDS

Northern Ireland rockers The Bonnevilles are renowned for both their incendiary live shows and soulful song-writing skills. Their music is full of heart, smart, and always fun. On Dirty Photographs, their second studio album for Alive, they display their love for gritty blues, primitive rock ‘n’ roll and Irish folk.

While their new effort still traffics in a similar garage-blues-rock vein as their previous 2016 studio album, Arrow Pierce My Heart, the mood has shifted as Dirty Photographs is more of an upbeat affair. As singer-songwriter-guitarist Andrew McGibbon Jr. reveals, “There’s an emotion of positivity on these songs, rather than the usual tales of woe. Most of the tracks are upbeat, or have a positive message, a message of love or even just plain old fashioned sex. I know others have written a world of songs about those things but we haven’t, so we thought it was our time to jump in.”

And as far as the album’s title track is concerned, McGibbon is quick to admit, “It’s a poem of tribute to my wife’s bum. She’s very pretty and does have a lovely one.”

The Bonnevilles’ Dirty Photographs will be available on Limited Edition Vinyl, CD, digital and streaming formats March 16th via Alive Naturalsound Records.

PREVIOUS PRESS RELEASE FOR THE BONNEVILLES’ 2016 ALBUM ARROW PIERCE MY HEART

The Bonnevilles are a Garage Punk Blues duo straight out of Northern Ireland featuring Andrew McGibbon Jr. on vocals & guitar, and drummer Chris McMullan. The twosome will be unveiling their explosive third full-length studio effort Arrow Pierce My Heart this spring.

With two studio albums already under their belt, the band has become one of Europe’s top alternative blues acts, sharing the stage with bands such as Left Lane Cruiser, James Leg, Johnny Walker and Guadalupe Plata, and appearing at both The Deep Blues Fest in Clarksdale, Mississippi and its counterpart in Germany.

Rick Saunders on his Deep Blues blog describes them as “deep, dark punk and stylish hard roots music with good pop-sense and without a whiff of retro poly stink.”

The Bonnevilles’ Arrow Pierce My Heart will be available March 18th on CD, digital and limited edition colored vinyl through Alive Naturalsound Records.

  • HERE’S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE BONNEVILLES:

    • "Simply a band that needs to be on any rock fans radar regardless of where you stand sub-genre wise, you want to dance and feel like a bad ass at the same time, spin this record on your turntable and turn it up well past your comfort zone." - NO DEPRESSION
    • "The Bonnevilles carry on the tradition of stripped down, blues rock run through with headbanging punk energy." – POPMATTERS
    • “The Bonnevilles bring out primal urges in you, but you’ll love every moment.” - THE REVIEW
    • “Raw and gnarly… don’t be expecting a reel or jig, or Bonoesque bombast; these lads from Northern Ireland look to Chicago and the Deep South for their muse… Turn it up!” - THE BIG TAKEOVER
    • “Do they serve Guinness in juke joints? If not, they need to start. Coming straight outta Northern Ireland (believe it or not), this guitar-and-drums duo’s third album channels the bare-knuckle blues-rock and garage-punk of the old Fat Possum roster, with nods to early White Stripes, Black Keys, Blues Explosion and countryman Rory Gallagher. On target.” - TORONTO SUN
    • [5 out of 5 stars!] “If you like gritty garage blues, you'll love this album.” – EXAMINER
    • “In a subgenre with a lot of bands following the same template, the Bonnevilles know little differences can mean a lot. They bring just enough that's fresh on Arrow Pierce My Heart to make it a real contender in the punk-blues sweepstakes.” - ALL MUSIC
    • "Northern Ireland duo the Bonnevilles stick to an original program on Arrow Pierce My Heart, but also punk up the blues like Chess Records filtered through the Standells.... Raw and dirty, not a million miles away from what the Black Keys were doing in their early days." - BLURT MAGAZINE [Rating 9/10!] “As fuzzy and raw as blues can possibly get. Arrow Pierce My Heart is a brilliant record, one that is surprisingly diverse. The soundtrack to your next sleepless night with your own darkest secrets running through your head never sounded better.” - MAXIMUM VOLUME MUSIC
    • “Lurgan's finest garage punk blues duo The Bonnevilles who, on the basis of their excellent new LP Arrow Pierce My Heart, can surely lay claim to being one of the finest garage punk blues duos in the whole world right now.” - THE IRISH NEWS
    • “When The Bonnevilles go full stream ahead, they’ll take you on a night out guarenteed to leave a layer of scum under your fingernails.” – CLASSIC ROCK
    • “… instantly hits the spot.” – THE BLUES MAGAZINE
    • “The combination of garage-, blues- and punk-rock sounds with the sparseness of a duo has reached far enough from Detroit and Akron to come back via Northern Ireland and the Bonnevilles, whose new LP smolders very well.” - MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL
